And this is one of those methods from Restorative Yoga exercise for Trauma, where I refer to it as the five point check in. And to just kind of be present with that. If I understand my standard and then I walk right into a session, and then I can sense just how I'm impacted on those 5 factors of check in, and then really interested regarding why is that changing?
Which just how can we understand that something has simply shown up, whether it is intergenerational or not? If we're not attached in with our bodies and we're not embodied in the moment, exactly how would we even recognize? Like, returning to the extremely beginning, we can be in injury and we don't also know that we remain in trauma.
And so currently we can begin to be curious regarding hi. If I do that 5 point check in every day and after that I can go, I discover that I have a tendency in the direction of feeling kind of unclear in the morning.
What is that? What is that safeguarding me from? Where did that stem? When did I initially begin feeling that way? Or that's the energised domain name. If we're searching in the somatic or the physical domain, possibly it's this kind of chronic tightening around my diaphragm and wondering about that holding.
These usual areas. Or maybe it's the tendency to hold my breath. Well, when did I start holding my breath? Where is that? For me, in EMDR, we describe this as a FloatBack process where we're kind of following the symptom back to its origin. Yeah. Beautiful. Arielle as we start to make our means towards a conclusion in our conversation, I simply intend to return around to we've touched on several things, although they're likewise adjoined.
I think that possibly the large takeaway that I 'd like around us, around this, is that the tale doesn't have to end here. Like with any trauma story, we obtain to be an energetic participant in shaping what is the end of the story.
And I like this concept that not only do we have what we can discuss as transgenerational trauma, but we additionally have intergenerational durability and that we can be component of enhancing that resilience story. And I believe that's a great deal of what we're discussing today yep. That there's another possibility there.
The story obtains to continue on. Beautiful. Yeah. And I don't think that we deal with that tale merely by caring it for our family or forefathers. There is a method which, when we are ready to really feel and fix and recover, it is a present that goes in both generational directions.
Recognizing that we're all interconnected, I believe that's a stunning, beautiful image and a stunning idea that we are linked in both instructions. One of the authors that composes on this technique of growing transgenerational strength, he explains the relevance of creating generational compassion. And we can do this with our children too, yet we start with ourselves.
Well, since I understand there's audiences that are believing, alright, well, I do not want this discussion to end, where can I continue the discussion with Arielle? Where can they so, you understand, maybe the starting point that I'll point out is go find the YouTube network. I have a YouTube network that has more than 100 videos on it, several of which are sort of brief injury talks, and a few of them are long yoga courses, 90 mins classes, and just peruse and appreciate.
And that's Dr. Arielle Schwartz on YouTube. You can locate lots of my works in my books, in my blog, and that's at Dr. Arielle and on Facebook at Dr. Arielle Schwartz.
And it's an advantage to recognize you. And I state this every solitary time, yet take treatment of yourselves. You are the most essential toy in that playroom, so tend to your hearts and be well.
